Yes very common these days. We use it at work too for meetings not all are video conference calls some just use it as a voip conference call since its easy to have everyone call in and join so Id ask if it just a voice call or video conference call.

Just did one last night. It was kind of awkward at first but went pretty well. Use a background with nothing that could turn them off. Send the wife and kids away so it's quiet. I had that last night and a phone interview today.

              Good luck

I use Skype daily for meetings and for conducting interviews. Feel free to PM if you'd like some help with it. Lots of good advice given already. Keep the visuals and background sounds conducive of a professional environment. Practice connecting and getting the video and sound (mic and speaker) so your on point for show time. I always appreciate my interviewee asking if I can see and hear them clearly early on. Good luck

Did it once for an internship in college. Nothing like getting interviewed in boxers, button down shirt and a tie lol.

Pretty straight forward, act just like you would at an in person interview. Confidence is key!

Haha. I doubt it. But it's my first any kind of interview in 8 years so that makes me the scrappy underdog!

Wow, I didn't realize it was so common. I will be doing my 3rd interview via Skype this week, with the owner of the company. Already had great interviews with manager I would report to and HR. Never had to interview with owner to be hired before. I hope it's just a formality. Good luck on your interview.
