    Skype interview?

I got an email from a company I had sent my resume to for an operations manager position. The email stated that they would like to do an interview through Skype tomorrow.

Has anybody done this? What are the green screens thoughts on this?
It will be a first for me.

Could use some prayers it goes well.

Efficient. Make sure your "background" area is clean and free of clutter. Dress up as you would for a face to face.

Test and make sure you know how to "Skype" before your appointment

I found the first one I ever did to be awkward.

I've done it several times. It is becoming common place. Especially since companies realized they can use a national talent pool without having to fly a bunch of 'maybe' candidates out. They are useful. Just make sure your equipment is functional and pick a good place to do it (appropriate lighting, kids not screaming in the background, no pics of scantily clad women behind you, etc...)

If you need more info, let me know.

I've never used Skype so I will be playing with it later.
I figure I will do it at the kitchen table where the background will be better than dead deer on the walls.

I did a couple of them. Never even had a Skype acct until the offers came up. The company was overseas so the interviews via Skype was more cost effective for them. And both interviews were late at night U.S. time but early morning on the other side of the pond. So I wore a nice dress shirt and boxers. Most comfortable interview I ever had. I did have to where pants when they flew me over for the hiring process.

I have conducted a few skype interviews. Our jobs require certain physical requirements, so i have asked them to stand up. That would be funny.

As stated before. Clean video background. make sure audio and connection are solid. Look nice. No kids or dogs audio in the background.

Being unemployed I have not paid for the Internet service. I figured it was a luxury I didn't need. I just paid to turn it back on so I can do the Skype thing.

Let us know what time the interview is so we can all call and text at the appropriate time. Cat Facts!!!!

                        Good luck!

I did a skype meeting with a chinese manufacturer several months ago. I made sure I wore a cowboy hat, and had a huge set of longhorns completely visible in the background.

                            I didn't want to disappoint.
