Austin land and cattle for a great steak and nice dinner. Rent a canoe and cruise lady bird lake. Two stepping at the broken spoke.

If you want the best steak experience in Austin, I highly recommend Perry's Steakhouse.

If you like music but dont want to mess with the younger crowd go to Ceder Street on 5th I believe. They have the Spasmatics on Wednesday Nights and it is well worth it! A little more mature crowd.

I'm in the same boat as you, stuck in Austin for a few days with too much free time. I'm planning on hitting the Capital, seeing the bats fly out at sunset from the bridge, gonna walk UT campus for a while and laugh at college kids. I was hoping I could catch a roller derby match but it seems that those are weekends only.

Austin is a great food town so its limitless possibilities for that. Standing in line for hours to get bbq seems a little stupid when there are so many places that are great in Texas. I'm waiting till I get there to ask some locals where to get a decent steak. Dont forget there are a ton of food trucks around the city for some great eats as well.

There are lots of shops that my wife has lined up to visit so I'm sure I'll end up carrying bags for a day.

I'm taking this liberal, hippie haven by the horns and I'm gonna have some fun with my time.

Bob Bullock Museum is really good if you are looking for that kind of thing. Check and see if The RR Express is playing and you could catch a nice ballgame and eat at Salt-Lick!!

See the bats, and go get a drink on 6th street. Lots of places to hear live music. You will definitely see your share of weirdos, they're on a mission.

one of the cleanest and nicest "big cities" in Texas. You got two awesome lakes within the city limits and a third within miles. Go rent a boat or canoe and do some fishing! Both Lake Austin and Town Lake have some awesome large mouth fishing.

One of my favorite things to do, head to the green belt. Lots of hiking trails and swimming spots. The creek is flowing right now. Can park at Mopac and 360. Pick up some food and fill a backpack up with some beer. Or a bottle of wine
