I've had some large times on 6th Street.

Hoffbrau for a great hole in the wall steakhouse. It's on 6th almost to Lamar...if you want to watch oil and water try to mix go watch 7th at Neches...

I've had a lot of great experiences going places whose population held political views I would probably have disagreed with if we were polled. Always seemed like I'd be limiting myself to do otherwise, and it never seemed to take anything away from me.

X2 on Jacobys. Recommend making reservations tho. There will be a range of patrons, which is actually entertaining. Food is amazing. On the way out a friendly hipster sold me a camo hat with the ranch emblem. It must have killed him. I'm wearing it now

Also Matts El Rancho and Trudy's.

As TP3 mentioned, the Bob Bullock is a great experience.

Dirty Sixth is good for College kids on Thursday- Saturday night. Any other night and you should go to East 6th or to Rainy Street

We did arcade games, gokarts, batting cages, mini golf, laser tag, and had all the pizza we wanted. We had a blast. Were gonna hit up 6th St early tomorrow afternoon and see what all the fuss is about. Then head to the bat bridge, and then sit down and do the fine wine and dine thing at 3 Forks.
                    Sounds like a plan.
South Congress is a nice walk with plenty going on and a bit more tame than 6th.
Take your lady for a walk on the Boardwalk at night for a great view of downtown.
It's a **** shame how most of what TBHers can think of to do in Austin is waste energy and time judging other people.

Eddie V's on 5th street is one of my favorite restaurants in Austin. Give it a try and thank me when you get back

A very simple thing yet one of the reasons I thought Austin was so cool the first few times I went......drive out Capital of Texas and over the awesome bridge. It is just awesome.

I agree a drive out 360 across the bridge is cool. You can pull off and hike to the top of the cliff too and it's a great view. Lots of bluebonnets out there right now too.

Were gonna be on Congress Avenue bridge around 7-715 to watch the bats. Then heading to 3 Forks for supper reservation at 815. Gonna go spend a little money on the lady and treat her right. Steaks, wine, and dessert. Never been to 3 Forks, so ill put a little review on here later. Were gonna get all fancied up, and leave the camo cap in the closet. Gonna go slacks and button up.. Wierd..
