This is not true. If the spacer is on top of the strut your ride does not change. If you install a spacer under the cap of the strut ( on top of the coil) this will effect the ride. That kit you are looking at will not effect ride. Only the height of the truck.

And if you go with the bilstiens do not go to the top setting. It makes for a bad alignment. Unless you have a heavy bumper to bring it down. We normally put it on the 2 inch settings.

Sambo, I installed a 3" on my front after I measure (2011 ram 1500 4wd crew longhorn Laramie) perfectly leveled it out. My 2007 (2500 mega cab) only needed a 2.5". Jest make sure you measure.

Sounds like a good excuse to by a heavy duty front bumper to me.

Then again if your wife is like mine that probably wont fly for you either.

I installed mine on a 1500 Silverado and also installed my buddies on a F150. Both weren't hard at all just took taking your time and remembering to re-connect and re-torque everything down. Took me about 2 hours a truck and that was having a few beers along the way.

OH yeah... the kits we installed were the Rancho QuickLift which is a full replacement strut, spring and all. No need for a spring compressor as the quick lift comes with it already assembled. Remove old strut, put new in place, torque everything down and youre done. Shop around you can find them for pretty reasonable. I was planning on replacing my shocks too that's why I went with the Rancho QuickLift full replacements.

My 2011 Ram...installed a 2" Rough Country leveling kit in front and left the rear alone. Stock 17" rims with 305s Nittos hurt my MPG but it rides great. The rear wants to squat a bit when I pull my travel trailer. I may look at adding some adjustable Bilstein shocks at some point....but I can live with it for now.

They are pretty easy to install and I'm no mechanic. I've done it on multiple trucks including an 06 ram.

When I priced them for my truck, 2011 Chevy 1500, I think they ran around $100 a piece. Haven't done it yet, but seriously considering it.
