And develop it versus restore or redevelop existing areas such as downtown or vacant commercial/industrial areas. But no, people want a ranch style home that is 2500 Sq ft and 150,000. So in order to meet the demands of the public we lose our open space. We have no one to blame but ourselves.
As for a conservation easement, those are wonderful and are contracts in perpetuity. No matter who owns the land and if it is sold ten times, that land can not be developed.
Not sure of the name of the new subdivision that is being put in. I do know the original ranch name had Hazy Hills on the gate and was referred to as "Headwaters" for being the headwaters of Barton Creek. Such a beautiful property with an abundance of wildlife. Heading out Friday morning to go grab a few more things and get a turkey hunt in.
Aw man Hazy Hills. It broke my heart when I saw the subdivision approval pending sign on the gate. What a nice place.
