    Closed. But it's more expensive.

If gas make sure hvac uses 90% furnaces and be sure and get ample fresh air or even better us an erv system. Load calculation is a must due to foam houses sizing is key.

Closed....I am an insulation salesman for commercial and industrial insulation....closed cell stops the air from passing through

I don't have a clue as to the answer and will be closely watching this thread. We're just framing our lakehouse as well, and had some other questions....like how do you stop a woman from picking the most expensive doors God ever made.

Not to sidetrack but can anyone tell me where to get a smaller amount of the closed cell. Wanting to use on the inside of a cab on a Terragator.

Thanks! Most of the ones I have looked at were for large amounts of square footage.

Im saying open cell 7-8" thick. I did a lot of research and read as much stuff as I could on building science. Check out the builder Matt Risinger on youtube and his blog. He is a huge advocate of building science and one of the few people that talk about it in the South. I foamed my roof line and went with a sealed attic. All gables and the roof line were sprayed 7-8" open cell. No soffit venting. The semi conditioned attic really helps out the a/c. My attic is consistently 5* or so warmer than the inside of my house. I have a 2100sqft house and my max bill has been about $100. This is a remodel from the 60's. New construction could be built much tighter.

Id actually look into exterior sheeting foam both on the roof and the exterior walls. Air seal the hell out of the place. This is your one opportunity.
