    The absolute best Turkey choke

I was wondering what yalls experiences have been with turkey chokes. I have no budget to try to fit in, I just want the best out there. I have been looking at Indian Creek, Rhino, Jebs, and the works but want to know from experience, It will be in a Beretta A400 Xtreme 28'' Barrel. I will be shooting 3''-3.5" 5's or a blend. I like ported chokes and don't necessarily "need" a wad restricting choke. Want opinions on brand, model, and restriction. Thank you fellas.

Out of curiosity, why do you prefer ported chokes?

Kicks gobbling thunder was the best one I had for my SBE but anymore I just use the regular full choke in my 390 20ga and some 6s. Inside 30yds they're toast.

Cause I dont care who you are Turkey loads push like a mule! 90% of the high end Turkey chokes are ported anyways but I would rather have less recoil/muzzle jump on top of the KO system in the a400.

I love my Kicks high flyer chokes for my waterfowling. I felt like maybe the company was built around that aspect and not Turkey. That being said I have seen good reviews. As far as constriction which kicks would you suggest? The website said .675 and I noticed that was just more open than most of the competitors.

I am a fan of the Primos Jellyhead......I shoot it out of a 20 ga Benelli M1. It patterned better than factory and the results with nothing more than 3" 1-1/4oz #4 pheasant loads, have been outstanding if I do my job. I don't waste any money on the pretty 10 count overpriced turkey loads.

I also have one for my 12ga Benelli SBE....but it hasn't seen sunlight since 2008..

on edit - they are 1-1/4oz. left off the 1/4

Have u ever thought about using #6's for the extra pellets? Sounds like it's working for you, it's just not much shot in a 20 gauge.

Yeah the Indian creek is ugly but it shot better than any other choke I tried which included jebs and kicks. I shoot 3.5" #5 Winchester XX. I shot a ton of different shell choke combos and this one was hands down better than all. I got it when I hunted Merriams in the Sandhills in Nebraska. I needed a choke and shell that could shoot at longer distances for that hunt

                          You're overthinking it. A bunch

I killed truckloads of turkeys with a 2-3/4" 20 gauge and a Poly Choke. Now my daughter is doing it with my old shotgun.

All that said, I think the choke I use for my 870 is a Primos. It does fine, and the turkeys roll over with some #5 pheasant loads

If you're worried about making a 50 yard shot, a new choke isn't the solution; you need to practice your calling more.

This weekend I have had 3 "shooter" Toms inside 10 yards shaking the blind with the spit'n'drum. The calling is alright lol 2 of the Toms met a grim reaper, the other dry humped the decoy for 15minutes but the spurs didnt measure up to what I was looking for. As a kid I killed piles of Turkeys with rifles and .410's but now I can afford to throw money into my toys lol I love to have the best of the best that way I dont have to buy again.

Rob Roberts Custom Gun Works (Gobbler Guns) makes a very fine choke for turkeys. I have two of their final strut chokes one for each of my brownings.

Call them and tell them exactly what gun you have and what load you want to shoot in it.

Don't get hung up on choke openings. Do not fall into the trap of believing a .665 choke is the same no matter what brand. This simply is not the case.

                              Call them at (870) 251-9955
