Was only throwing an option out there to the OP that asked for the opinion on them, never said that's what he or anyone should do.

I've had 3 Different year models but same truck. No real problems with them. My brother has an 03 that he bought new. Runs great still. You get the good ones and you get bad ones! Like any kind of vehicle. A lot of the same year models of other truck brands need new injectors and front ends rebuilt after 150,000 miles. My last 6.0 had 211,000 and I pulled heavy trailers 4 hrs to the lease and back. Sold it and it was still running great. It was pretty much factory. My one thing I can say is if that motor is making any weird noises then pass. If it purrs then go for it.

It ran like a scalded ape when I sold it to another TBH'er last August. I had to spend $1000 on repairs after the deal was agreed on and before i delivered the truck.

Personally, I would not spend a dime on buying one, no matter the cost or mileage.
Still runs like a scalded ape and the grandson loves it. ( knock on wood)

I was hoping you would chime in. Glad the monster is still running and glad your grandson likes it. Knock on wood also, hope it lasts forever for you!

For every 1 great review on the 6.0, there are 10 run like hell reviews.

                That should tell you something.

My dad used to have an 06 F-250 with the 6.0.... Do. Not. Buy. With the amount of repairs he paid for he could have bought another truck that actually ran.

                    You can't bulletproof them!
After I bullet proofed mine (waste of money) the injector problems came. At minimum one injector job a yr after bullet proofing.

Look back at my post from last summer. 6.0 blues. $11,000. New heads, gaskets, studs, 2 oil coolers, egr delete. To it's defense, it did have 160,000 on it. I have had two of these trucks and had issues with both. Not a fast learner I guess.

I see these threads all the time. I have 4 6.0's and only had one with problems. I personally drive an 04 Excursion. I have hauled trailers all over the country. It has pulled trailers from here to the East coast and the West coast.....literally.

I think a lot of the "run like hell" comments come from people that have never had one, but hear this stuff and just repeat it. I know for a fact, I have had 3 great ones.

Probably not a true statement. You are going to hear about all the bad ones but hear very little about the ones that have very little if any problems.

Had two of them, well my mom had an 03 and I had an 04. Both stayed in the shop non stop. I would never buy a 6.0, however a friend of mine has one and "bullet proofed" it, and it runs great.

Read that to yourself again ....there is a reason you don't hear a lot of positive reviews

Whens the last time you saw a " I love my 6.0 " thread?
