    150K in Austin?

For 150K, will I be stuck living in a cardboard box in Austin? Job will be in the Camp Mabry area. What kind of housing will 150K provide in the Austin metro? Am I going to be stuck in a tiny house in Leander for that price?

Exactly. Live in Buda and 150k will get you a nice place.

Man, I would think 150k would be in an area you might not want to be in

You won't be living "in Austin" for 150K but you could live near Austin and have a nice house for 150K.

Get a new job. Dont move here. Traffic sucks, people suck, the women are ugly. This is a horrible place to live. Stay away from it.

My combined family income is much less than that and we're doing just fine. And the quality of life here is terrible with all the bars and good restaurants. The hardest adjustment for me was the great bass fishing right down town. Watching all those scantily clad women on sup boards will really jack up a good fishing trip.

I think that 150k was his estimated home purchase price, not his yearly income.

If that's the case live in Buda. Kinda wish I would have bought out that way.

It won't buy much in Austin. You will have to pick between the no long commute and the house. Cant have both for 150K in Austin

I am not a Dem...it is the best city in the state, if you like music, great food, great fishing, great women, great hunting of all kinds.

I make a little more than that and we live fine. I live central off of 31st st.

you will love it but there are some strange folks. lol

Pflugerville and Round Rock have homes in that range. Nice older neighborhoods too.
