Ask the neighbor if you can get your bird. If the answer is no, call the game warden who will go on the property for you with or without permission (although they will probably tell you to avoid shots where your birds fall on the neighbo's property and forget about the lost bird).

You know I'm taking the outdoors safety class and they class says that your suppost to aks the land owner for permission and then unload your gun and leave it on your side of the fence and cross,

....only if the landowner is not around. GW will consider it the same thing "if he knows".....I asked.

but we didn't go get our birds that fell in his yard (or ask his permission) ... and I did enjoy the one that I hit in the rudder who lost hydraulic pressure and dropped on his tin roof with a resounding BANG. very nice...

How close were you to his house? Heck I might have been POed myself if you were setting next to my house shooting

couldn't move away from the fence - would have been out in a bare field. we had our backs to Mr. Cranky Landowner
hmmmm......not knowing your exact situation but...I've had cases where I've planted a sunflower field or I have a water hole, my neighbor ain't got chit so they sit on my fenceline shooting doves that I've done the work to attract.

                  If that's the case...you shouldn't hunt it.

Jamie no like fenceline hunters (dove or deer)

now if they ask politely, I'll more then likely ask then to jump the fence and join us.

Its also a big no no to cross a fence line onto another mans property with a gun. I am not sure if its just a long rifle or any gun, but I have heard it becomes serious very fast with a firearm.

                    Either way its trespassing...
