That's pretty weird to think that would even get into the auction looking like that. The J does look similar, but as pointed out, that picture doesn't even show him signing the correct side of the helmet.

I would let them know just because I don't believe that's a good look for a Chamber of Commerce.

I think your helmet is signed by the lesser known "James Witner". He works in the Cowboys' copy room in their corporate offices. His lifetime stats are 1352 phone calls fielded, 30,986 envelopes opened and 345 coffee cups filled. He's not HOF material, but was Employee of the Month for June 2003.

Plot thickens... Walked into the COC a few minutes ago. Met with 2 ladies and presented exhibits A,B and C. They had never been in this situation before.

I overheard that "____" from the "Pawn Shop" had donated the item.

Hmmmmmm. Pretty easy to donate an item with no real value.

So, I left the items with the ladies who will attempt to authenticate them, and will call me back with a report of findings. They are aware I am requesting my money back, so, we'll see.

I wouldn't mess with trying to get money back on a fundraiser item myself. I will say my signature looks different all the time, especially if I was signing alot! Sometime even unrecognizable after a long night of drinking on the bottom of the CC receipt!

I have a football I personally got signed at training camp one year and its almost spot on to what your helmet is. I wouldn't discount the fact it could be real just yet. Let me find mine this evening and will show you. Personally the very clean signed ones... That's the first time I've seen his signature that clean. I think you got he rushed version scribble get through a crowd signature.
