    No had the lifter problem before this is a rod. Oil changed every 3 to 5k at dealer never actually asked whether they used synthetic or conventional. They did say this was rare but after several major issues in front end, transmission, and engine I'm pretty much done with this truck

        ya I don't blame you, you should of gotten a lot better life out of it!

          So far so good on my 2001 GMC, 217781 miles, run Mobil 1 synthetic.
