I grew up in the valley and spent a few bucks and brain cells down on SPI during spring break in my younger years, now my visits are limited to STBGFC tournaments, TIFT, and LKT.... Back in the day there were a handful of places that only opened during spring break or other peak weekends. As was mentioned, Louie's is always good, Tequila Sunset tended to be an "older" crowd (I think they are 21+). Tequila frogs was always a pretty wild place, not sure if it operates under the same name or not, that was always the location of the GGW crap and wet tshirt contests, etc... I miss Charlie's, that blew everybody else out of the water. I'm betting Clayton's beach bar will be the new hotspot, it kind of has a Charlie's feel to it. Clayton's is at the northern end of the island on the gulf side.

I grew up 40min from SPI. I'm sure you already know this bud, but during this time of year, plan on a 3hr+ wait across that 2mile bridge if you dont time it right. Also, be sure to get there early AM. I've seen them close the only entrance to the island due to being over crowded. Our favorite place to eat was Dirty Al's and pretty sure ive eaten at just about all of the places down there. Although, during Spring Break i dont recall eating much, other than sandy sandwiches

Spring Break isn't anything like it use to be. Not even Texas week. What really killed it, was the incident we had a few back with the college student that was almost killed by the "cartel" members on Coca-cola beach. The past few years, the lines and traffic have been very very minimal compared to what it used to be. When I started working EMS in Port Isabel 5 years ago, wouldn't get a minute of sleep during Spring Break and the last time I did, I think I slept all night.
That being said, Clayton's seems to be the new place to be. They have all the concerts and whatnot since Coca-Cola beach left SPI. Louie's backyard is always a hit and it's surrounding bars. Club Chaos opens during Texas week and is another big party spot. It's a huge club.
As said above, stick to yourself and your group and try to avoid the locals. lol. I don't think I've ever had a bad call during spring break where people from the RGV weren't involved. They wanna try to impress all the blondes that come down. haha.

Booze is also cheaper in isabel. On the island, youll be paying ridiculous prices. We cleaned out the local Walmart with $300 of millerlight, coors light, Kentucky deluxe and malibu. Lol man, brings back so many memories.
Oh we also did a BYOB booze cruise one night for $20/person. 2 or so hour boat ride and when you got off everyone got a wristband for VIP at louies. Which was $15 itself. I just so happened to turn 21 that night as well
