Drive down the beach, make a fire and fish. Couldn't tell you about the bar scene.

Good luck finding somewhere to park on the beach. IF you have 4 wheel drive you could head towards big shell if you wanna do some fishing. Otherwise, the whole island is a huge party.

It's definitely a party. Dont have to look too far if that's the sort of thing you're looking for.

When I went one year in college, coca cola beach was great during the day, tequila sunset, Louies backyard, and Claytons were our bars of choice. I also recommend Isabels cafe as a good breakfast spot bit time it right or else you'll be stuck on the bridge for hours....

Booze is also cheaper in isabel. On the island, youll be paying ridiculous prices. We cleaned out the local Walmart with $300 of millerlight, coors light, Kentucky deluxe and malibu. Lol man, brings back so many memories.

Oh we also did a BYOB booze cruise one night for $20/person. 2 or so hour boat ride and when you got off everyone got a wristband for VIP at louies. Which was $15 itself. I just so happened to turn 21 that night as well

We also took my truck and my buddy's jeep up the island on morning and SLAYED the trout. 4x4 is a must though, we got stuck a few times and 4wd was invaluable.

I'm going to SPI for the first time for a work conference in June. Never been and I'm from NTX so I rarely get to go this far south. I love fishing but never fished the ocean... need to hit up somebody on TBH that fishes trout near SPI and see if I can't tag along!

I'd rather fish than lay around on the beach!

No doubt. If I'm gonna be hot and sweaty and come in smelling like dead fish and have sand in my britches, I'd just as soon all that happen while I'm fishing rather than just sitting around. I don't really get the appeal of sitting on a beach.

Wahoo's has been closed for a couple years, but did use to be THE place. Now it is run by the same guys that own Louie's.
