    Hunting sutton county ?

My buddies and I just acquired a lease in Sutton county that think will be the best ranch in texas that I've hunted on. And I was just wondering what week my fellow sutton county GS brothers would pick for peak time of the rut in north central sutton county.

Where about you at? We are off Baker rd. North of 10 and I would say peak is thanksgiving to the first week of December.

I am about 100 miles west of Sonora and out rut is nearly always the 1-10 of December. This year is was before Thanksgiving. Sonora is usually a week or two before mine so anywhere from third week in November to just after Dec 1st.

Yea I think a 163 would work just fine . I've got some other buddies who have been hunting the pasture next to ours for 4 years and they killed a 150inch buck this year which is there best so far . And it won't be Mexico or South Texas but I think with the neighbors we have and the amount acres with some protein and sound management I think we can grow some very nice deer.

When I used to hunt up that way, I always set aside Thanksgiving week and the week after Thanksgiving for prime time...

We are about 20 miles south of Sonora at the end of Aldwell rd. Our rut is usually kicking off during the week of thanksgiving. This year was a little late and the first week of Dec. was when it really kicked off.

I'm about 30 miles S of Sonora. Our rut is usually 1-2 weeks after thanksgiving. This year we saw rut activity all the way through the last weekend of the season.
