My "new" plan with them is pretty much the same as what I had before, except that now it costs $150 MORE per month, and my deductible went from $1500 to $6000. But, I am covered if I ever get pregnant or need breast augmentation surgery... The way I see it, MY extra $150 that I'm now paying each month is going directly to someone else so THEY don't have to pay that $150. Chaps my hide...
Yes sir. $72.00 out of $100.00 goes into subsidies for THOSE OTHER people.

I recently took my son (20yo) off of my insurance through work and put him on Blue Cross/Blue Shield for half the cost. I put him on the non Obama care (no assistance or adjustment for income) gold PPO and our Dr will take it. However they will not take the Obama care HMO. My daughter (28) has the Obama care crap and she has to pay $6000 before it kicks in so going to the dr is an out of pocket, like no insurance, situation for her anyhow. It's an interesting situation for sure. I hope we can elect a pres that will nullify this.

As I sit here and try to cut another 2.5% of total costs in my company because of the increase in healthcare costs in my company.

My only hope is the supreme court kills the legality of the subsidy

I hope the supreme court rules favorably on the exchanges BUT... They are the reason it was implemented in the first place. So im not holding my breath

I went to the eye dr last Friday and the exam and trial pair of contact cost me $134.50. Just a couple years a go it was $20 and free trail pair. I'm not looking forward to seeing how much the box of contacts are going to cost!

My mother-in-law hasn't worked in 30+ years and has ZERO income.
She didn't qualify for a subsidy, and O-care was costing her $300 a month.

I can't cover expenses with that. I do think that if this crap continues then the government will somehow force doctors to take it. One more step closer to socialized medicine. I know it sucks for patients but physicians have to make enough to cover expenses and make a living. Right now the exchanges won't cover that and very few private practice docs will take it.
Doc - I think you're right on with the socialized medicine thing. This exchange system is step one towards the government taking over the entire medical field, or at least bifurcating it towards government and privatized medicine.

I had an affordable care plan last year. No one accepted it. Ended up paying out of pocket for everything...which is fine if you never go to the doctor. It's a catastrophic emergency plan. I dropped it and ended up with a bronze plan from BCBS.

The American people wanted change. Here is your change. If you voted for this clown and his administration then I hope you are happy. I despise this president and have no respect for him. I have always felt that our leaders deserved respect but that changed when we elected this condescending socialist. If we really do get Hillary next I may move to Canada!
