A friend I used to work with won all the time. Of course, he played everyday, too. I'm sure he lost a lot more than he won, but you never heard about the losses, only when he won.

Just a sneaky tax disguised as a game.

Lottery gave me a cheap t shirt and tote bag.

$125, was one of the 5$ Dallas cowboys scratch offs... Won $25 and then entered to win some deal on the back and won a $100 gift card to cowboys NFL Shop.

$500 on a $50 ticket. Broke even with what I bought that day. Needless to say I stay away from those these days.

I bought a Lotto ticket years ago and knew I didn't with the Jackpot, so I never checked the numbers. A month or two later I was cleaning my apartment and was throwing away some stuff. I came across the ticket and thew it in the trash because I never win anything. About 10 minutes later I decided I should at least check the numbers. As it turned out I won on 2 different lines, for a total of over $100. If memory serves me right I think it was $142 that I dug out of the thrash.
I only play the lottery one or twice a year when I notice that the Jackpot is over $100 million.

I've won $50 a few times. Rarely do I ever play scratch-offs anymore as the payout odds seemed to have slowly gone down hill over the years.

I will say this is if you plan on playing scratch-offs. Go on-line to the Texas lottery website and see what the newest games are. Each series of games has a set amount of prizes. The newer games will have a lot more of the top prizes left outstanding. One thing they don't tell you is they will not stop selling a game even if all of the top prizes have been claimed. Don't get me wrong, your odds still suck, but it can help a bit.

I've never won more than $5 but I know a guy that had a $2 ticket, he didn't win but he turned it in for some kind of second chance program and won season tickets for the Cowboys this last season.

I have a relative that won 5 or 10K a couple of times. That's the highlight of her life. I've tried telling her that she has spent about $50000 to win it but she's not good at math.

Wife won $500 a couple of times over the last 10 years, sister hit $50k on a $5 ticket last year.
I won a second chance package about 7 years ago.
Was Corvette stuff, blanket, leather jacket and some other stuff.
Looked funny in my Ford.. gave it away to a friend..

I use to play them a lot. Haven't in a long time. I won $500 twice on $5 tickets about 3 months apart. That almost made me even on scratchoffs. lol
