Years ago I bought the new Eminem cd and accidentally got the censored one. Happened to get a scratch off at the gas station that afternoon, won $20, and went and got the uncensored cd. Thus concludes my gambling winnings

Wish it was more than $2 per each.

I won $300 once and $100 a couple of times. My father in law won 3 mil on a $30 scratch off several years ago. I didnt even know they made them that expensive.

Won 500.00 numerous times. Biggest was last Christmas on 1 of the CashWord games. Won 5000.00. I budget myself only about 20 bucks a week to play and I win enough to keep playing, then BOOM! I hit a good one. Of course, there are no sure fired ways to win, but I do check the Scratch off web page to see which cards still have a lot of winners left and I have noticed I usually win more on the newest games when come out as well. Don't know if that is just a coincidence or that they release more winning cards at the start of a new game to get people buying them faster.

About 15 years ago there was a country music station in Dallas called Young County. They ran a contest once where you guessed a number between 1 and 100. There were 50 prizes and those prized were "hidden" behind 2 of the numbers. If you picked 2 numbers with the same prize, you win the prize. If you would write down every prize number that was missed, you could start to figure out where the matching prizes were. I wrote them down and tried calling in about 30 times only to get "the all circuits are busy" recording. They finally answered 1 time so I picked the one prize that I knew. It was $1053.00 in Lotto scratch off tickets. I think it cost me more in income tax than I won!

Maybe, but I doubt it. Someone get Bill Gates to give the government or the State of Texas 70 Billion or so and lets see if taxes go down... They never do. Somehow they squander every red cent and then still want more.
RiverRat--you are right--they aren't banking any tax dollars, but the money they squander is more of the lottery players and less of mine.

I'd bet if everyone kept a accurate log of spent and won numbers it wouldn't take long for them to realize it is a losing proposition. But, if you can afford it and enjoy it, have at it.

I think you've got it figured out -- at least the "coincidences" part of it.

Came out one morning and found a $20 bill in my yard. Took it to 7/11 and bought four $5 tickets, won $100 on one. Pretty good deal.
