What does singing the feathers do?

I'm dying to take a bobcat with my bow. I've been saving to buy the new FoxPro "Fury" electronic call, when it comes out in October. I'm hoping it'll work well for predators, turkey AND whitetail. I've also thought about using a trick we used as a kid to catch hawks and falcons for falconry- we'd put a gerbil, rat or even a rabbit in a wire-mesh cage that we painted flat black. I've heard of people attaching a battery to a cage to be able to give them a light shock in order make them give out a distress call. I'm going to see if the E-call works first, though.

All you guys above using live bait, dont let PETA catch you doing that!

I just used a rabbit in distress call and brought one in to about 15 yards, sneaking and crouched the whole time. I've heard you can use ground meat as bait, that way the cat or yote cant pick it up and carry it away to eat later, they have to eat right there. As for keeping the coons off of it, i dont know.

Shot a beautiful Bobcat last year. Was sitting in my tree stand during turkey season. Had a hen decoy out roughly 20 yards. Saw something move in the shadows of some bushes. At first I thought it was a baby pig moving towards an old feeder. It turned out to be a large bobcat. I had my 30.30 with me and took it.

That bobcat was putting the stalk on my decoy. I'm guessing he responded to my call. Not a bad come Fall turkey season.

Should also mention that another guy on my lease shot a bobcat. Called him in using a rabbit in distress call.

I have tied the remnants of deer carcases up in the V of a tree where the coyotes cant get it. I was actually hoping to get a Mountain Lion (we had seen a young one) but the bobcats climbed the tree to eat it.

I know this guy yhat makes a small pocket size coaxer call that works. I have one that I use while it the deer stand and have called with it while deer were under the feeder and they didnt even look up. Try that with a distress call and see how fast a deer really is.

So I would nt try to use a distress type call while on stand for deer. If you are just wanting to use something when the chance comes up use a coaxer.

Bobcat urine works good. Cat food is fair... but if you have a place they walk through and want to stop them long enough for a shot ..try putting some Cat Nip down. Swwwaaaannnnggg...you got ur stuck kitty!
                      good luck
