Have you ever seen the gubment get involved with anything having to do with commerce that didn't cost you more and cause whatever it was to be reduced in service... then they say in order for them to "fix" it, they need more money... It's the way they operate/survive...

We will pay a "Federal Fee" somehow and it will go up in price every year until they create a massive government bureaucracy. This is nothing more than a new way to tax us.

        From what I can tell,
"its like the Obamacare for the internet"
The Fed Government wants to regulate the internet. Basically make it a "pay as you go" just like cell phone users make you pay X amount for however many gigs you use. It will basically be a utility. Also, this will sensor some of the content posted on the internet. A lot of Bloggers and such will be monitored or denied service because of their affiliation with political parties, etc. Kind of like the way the IRS targeted Conservatives. But a lot of this is speculation by radio talk shows and what I hear from our Senators over email and FB. I have not read the language in the proposal.

broadband based services will now share equal bandwidth with whatever goes over that carrier's wires. this means att u-verse will get equal time as the amazon prime streaming, and hulu can't charge more for a certain place to stream from. it CAN mean that your comcast cable tv that shares with data streaming will see a spinning wheel of death while it buffers waiting for data to commence.

it also means internet usage fees will now start showing up on your monthly statement to pay for access of those who can't afford services. it should also include fees on your cell bill since it is a broadband based service as well, 3g, 4g, and LTE.

this will not effect business class service since it is not broadband.

Just another way to find another taxable source. Heard a guy on the TV this morning saying the internet has grown at a steady rate without the government interfering. What do they hope to accomplish?
I think it is the beginning of censorship. The demos found out how ppl can make their own decisions. Irritating that O said "We have to pass it so you can find out what is in it." Hey that line of thinking worked once before

Exactly nothing until perhaps summertime if/when the rules become official.

Expect plenty of challenges/lawsuits from the likes of AT&T, Comcast, etc. between now and then.

The big problem with all of this is that the legislation has been kept a secret. VERY few people actually know what is in this new law.

I can tell you this. At no point in history has ANY government agency only done what they say they are going to do when the agency is created. Not only that, but the government has shown time and time again that they want to control what citizens publicaly state. What better way to do just that than to take over the internet.

Please keep in mind that we will not notice or see any changes for some time. UNLESS an event happens that gives the government an excuse to implement full control quickly.

Cable TV is a raw stream unlike data streaming on things like Netflix. There is no concept of buffering. If you lose packets for one reason or another you start to get pixel artifacts drawn on your screen.

Applying a solution that won't work, to a problem that doesn't exist.

Its over 350 pages of new rules and regulations

The committee that voted on it was mostly all democrats, only 2 republicans

They wouldn't allow anybody outside of the committee to read what was being voted on

The biggest concern that I see, is that you'll eventually have to get a business lic. pay business taxes, etc etc if you plan on starting or continuing to own a business that uses the internet for sales or advertising.
