The movie was well made and i think pretty accurately portrayed ...... At the end of the movie i was extremely sad. What a huge huge loss.
I hope Chris's wife and children can somehow find happiness and peace.

Read the book 3 or 4 times, stood on 35 for the procession. I am a huge fan if Chris and what he stood for. I will see the movie this weekend and hope all I've heard is true and that it stays with his story better than Lone Survivor movie did. That one did not do Marcus's or the villagers who helped hims story as told in his book justice very well in my opinion.

All you could hear was the rustling of clothes. The mood in the air was palpable. Saw lots of wives and girlfriends tightly latched on to their man.

Great movie balanced with some good light hearted moments.
this is how the feel was when i watched saving private ryan when it opened at ft campbell. lots of old men left crying when the beach landing started.
watched merican sniper last night at the house, really thought eastwood hit a homer with this movie. so sad how his life ended. so sad.

better than lone survivor. by far.

              Awesome movie..
I was one of the Patriot Guard Riders that helped escort Chris Kyle to Austin.
I will never forget the outpouring of love and support along I-35 that day to a great American hero..

              RIP Chief.

Not a single sound as everyone left the theatre last night....very good movie.

Maybe they'll make another movie about the original legend - Carlos Hathcock ...

I will go see the movie at some point. In the book it was a woman with a RPG that was his first kill. I know movies can't go word for word with a book. It would be 10 hrs long. I never saw "Lone Survivor". I read the book multiple times and was lucky to actually meet Morgan, Marcus' brother, in Germany.

I have the utmost respect for both of these warriors.

There's a big difference between shooting a woman and a kid! That's the one part they should get right. Also how did mustafa make 1000m shots with that scope and rifle? The whole last scene on the roof in the sandstorm wasn't in the book as I recall. As far as I remember he didn't shoot the other sniper at 2100m either. And also my 8 yr old doesn't flinch when he shoots his deer rifle as much as cooper does when he shoots in the movie. My brother who is a marine scout sniper was really ****** about him leaving his rifle at the end. I'm told that would never happen! Ever! Snipers don't do that!

Well, we went last night. Had the wife go get tickets earlier in the day. Since we already had tickets, we got there at the start time of the movie. Not a seat in the house!!! Should have known better. Went and got a refund and will try again later.

Amazing movie! Makes me think about things so differently. I went to meps 4 different times trying to be field artillery and go over seas. Long story short it didn't happen. This movie just made me want to drink a beer and thank God for people like Chris Kyle. He is definitely a hero and a mentor.

Wife and I went last night. Eastwood created a great story line based on Kyle's past. That said, the movie itself was ok to us. Cooper flinching, Mustafa made an off rest shot, the rifle Mustafa used, some of the assault formations were unpolished, sandstorm sensationalism, etc were constant reminders of the Hollywood effect.

End of the day, a nice tribute to an American Hero.

It's Hollywood...I don't get why you let the little details ruin a couple of hours of your life. To be upset over a movie that actually wasn't butchered up by the left?? Really?? You should be glad Eastwood got his hands on it. I haven't even seen it yet, but am stoked. Has there ever been one Movie that has followed the book completely?? Lone Survivor was good but it would have been a Lonesome Dove series to follow Luttrell's events from beginning to end. It left out a lot of aspects & details but who cares. You should try to focus on what these movies do to inspire those outside the loop of what Special Operators are really about. Most haven't a clue.

Having said that, you should read Victory Point http://www.amazon.com/Victory-Point-...=victory+point to get another look & perspective from what Lone Survivor displays. It's pretty in depth & will kind of dumb down the original, but you have to take all sides & aspects. Some will actually be a bit irked at this book but it is what it is.
