I just called back to be sure on how my upgrades worked. You can choose to do the "next plan" which is where you'll pay full price for the phone over 24 months or 12 months which ever you choose. This plan, they will also give you a $25 credit towards your account every month.

If you decide to go 12 months payoff, it's the same thing, they'll give you a $25 credit each month. And at the end, you still get to keep the phone.

Or you can still do it the old way and just do the discounted upgrade. iPhone 6 for example is still $199 upgrade fee.

I did not read all the responses, but know this from recent experience. If you upgrade the old fashioned way, where you get a free or deeply discounted phone, you lose all the discounts and your rate goes back up.

If you want to upgrade and keep the discounted plan rate, you have to use the Next plan and pay for the new phone for 2yrs!

We had to get on eBay and buy a phone outright, cause I refuse to pay for 2yrs on a phone!

We're going to check into this for my wife's phone. We pay $80/ mo just for her, unlimited data and text. We don't need all that junk.

It worked for me and I'm not renting a phone for 2 years. I got my upgrade the old way and got a discontinued plan.

if you live in a house with a metal roof/sides you can buy a signal booster. It should work off your current data plan. depending on carrier and the booster it could have wifi for the house also. I know for a fact ATT has one that does it all.
