    Just for you Chew

    AT&T double your data plan

I just changed my plan of 7 lines over to the "Double your data" plan going away from our unlimited. I chose the 50gig plan which is really 100gig. This is going to save us $70 a month just from ATT. And now since I have the hotspot included I'll also drop my home phone and Internet of another $80 a month.

    Before the plan change.

    After the plan change.

Thanks man. Good info. Do those plans force you to choose a method of upgrading? Do you have to pay for the phone over 2 years or whatever vs. using your upgrade credit towards a new phone.

I asked about the upgrades. The lady I spoke to said you don't lose your upgrades. In fact I still have 2 phones that are eligible after the doing the upgrade.

I think this is the catch...but it still comes out to be cheaper from what the ATT lady showed me yesterday.

You said that 50 gig is really 100 gig? How's that work?

It's the double my data plan. You pay for 50 and get 100

There is no reason I should go over even eliminating my home internet. My previous bill was $409.95 for 7 lines before fees and insurance and taxes. Now it will be $342 before all fees.

Thanks for the advise. You ever come to Houston area? If I can save big bucks on my phone bill I will defiantly buy you some diner and cervesa.

So you basically just choose a phone, set up the hotspot, and everyone else connects? I don't always have a great signal in my house so I may have to debate on whether or not to cut off my $69 Comcast internet.

Actually all the phones will have the hotspot feature IF it's an option on that phone in the settings.

                              We have a 5s, 5c, and a 4. I don't think the 4 has it.
