Just out of curiosity for those defending using the tow mirrors while pulling a trailer what kinds of trailers are yall pulling and are they really helping all that much? Are dodge mirrors so poorly designed from the start you have to pop em up to see anything when pulling a trailer? I know on the fords and chevy's you can see just fine pulling just about anything even big goose necks with out extending them out. Unless it is over size is there really honestly a need for the extension?

I always get a chuckle out of the redneck mobiles whether they have a ford, chevy or dodge emblem on the front.

I pull a 30 ft travel trailer and yes you do need extended mirrors to see around it.

Yup. Had a lady run into the back of my brand new dodge while in the drive through at In N Out in Austin. Didn't do a thing to my truck but rock it back and forth a bit

Dodge mirrors don't "extend" per say... they flip up, and when they are flipped up the over all length of the mirror from the truck body only increases by 1/2 of the width of the mirror itself. I pull my bumper pull camper with my BBQ pit hooked to the camper, but overall you just get a much better view with the mirrors up than you do with them down. I can see with them down, but I can see much better with them up. Plus its a personal preference... I like my mirrors and my truck and I don't give a toot what none of you dodge haters think.

Reminds me of a white dodge running around New Braunfels. The suspension is painted bright green and it has green light under it at night.

If I put stone pallets on the gooseneck they use the full 102" width of the deck and you can't see around them much without extending the mirrors. I usually still don't extend mine unless I have to back into a narrow jobsite or something. I pull that trailer weekly and have to extend my mirrors maybe 3 times a year. With a travel trailer you absolutely want them extended.

Mine is a Chevrolet though, apparently you can't see around the 4X4 sticker on a short bed dodge without tough guy mirrors.

Apparently not, I don't understand how anybody can't see just fine pulling a 16 foot flatbed with nothing on it with the mirrors down. (Which is what 90% of the wings I see are pulling around here.)
Where I used to work guys pulled 16 foot box trailers with chevy's never had to extend mirrors. With our ford we are regularly pulling a 40 foot gooseneck and a backhoe no need to have mirrors extended to see around it unless real tight and if its tight enough to need to extend mirrors it is usually more advisable to get out and look, we might extend mirrors once every couple years same when pulling the 4 horse trailer no issues seeing around it, attaching to it, or parking it.

Would the dodge guys extend the mirrors out on a ford or chevy for same application they are using their dodges?
