    Honeymoon Advice/Help

This is in advance as I am looking at a December 2015 wedding. I have approximately a $5-7k budget. Any advice, stories, and opinions are all welcome! Some things that my fiancé and I are looking for:

    Couples Only
    Caribbean (not Mexico)
    Possibilities for good offshore fishing
Island Activities (hiking, snorkeling, etc )

Oh, and I know what month December is. But I will give up a weekend of deer hunting every year for the woman who is promising to be mine for life.

My brother stayed there too! He had good reviews too except they didn't have any seafood at the hotel for the entire 5 days....

Costa Rica. We flew into Liberia and went to Guanacaste. Caught sailfish, mahi, and jacks. Ziplining, horseback riding, snorkeling, sailing, relaxing...it was great!

Will look into it! How long did you stay? Total cost estimate? dont have to answer the cost part if it's too personal. I'll understand.

8 days. Don't remember the exact costs but I used miles for the flights and want to say the package for the hotel (all inclusive) was ~$2000. Probably spent another $1000 to book the offshore boat for the day.

CONGRATS! My wife and I got married in May 2005 and went on our honeymoon in Playa Del Carmin, and all I can say is it was AWESOME. We stayed at an all inclusive resort and scheduled our whole week out. We went to Tulum, Xel-ha, Mayan ruins, a day on the beach snorkeling, And a 6hr offshore trip (PRIVATE $600). We spent less than $5k and the everyday was a blast. The day of fishing we were literally less that 2 mile off the coast in 700ft+ water catching Mahi Mahi and barracuda the whole time, I was strapped in a chair fighting fish after fish as fast as I could real them in. We caught 7 fish, the biggest being a little over 6'. The captain was Captain Ricks offshore fishing and YES I would recommend him. After catching the fish we gave all but 2 to the other boats that went out and didn't get any. The 2 we kept we gave one to the Chef at the resort and he prepaired one for us in a 4 course meal (fried, baked, sushi, etc) Treated us like kings. If I had it to do again I would stay there again. Hopefully this helps ya. Ill post a pick of the fish in a bit.

Sandals St. Lucia. I would probably live there if I could.

couldn't go wrong with that....we went to the Nassau sandals...all inclusive is the way to go, you just want to go and have fun and not have to worry about much.

We went to Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic for our honeymoon last April. We stayed at the Excellence resort, and it was great! The resort was all-inclusive and adults only, which was nice. We booked through a travel agent (which I highly recommend) and it was about $3k for 5 days, including airfare.

Once we arrived we booked a few "excursions". We chose to do zip-lining, snorkeling/swimming with nurse sharks and stingrays, and took a tour of sorts in some dune buggies. It was another 300-400 bucks for all of the activities, but they were definitely worth it.

All in all I can't really think of anything bad to say about the trip. Next time we can take a trip we'll probably look at other Excellence locations.

                              St. Lucia
                              Grand Cayman
                              Belize (Ambergis Caye)

Been to all 3 and each are very nice in their own ways. I'd say out of the 3, Belize was the more get away from it all place; at least where I stayed at. Grand Cayman was very nice, but pretty modern.
