2015 Hagerman Hog Hunt: Segment-A

I know most in of the perimeter of BM is fenced not sure about the other units. I think the high fence ranches may be breeding facilities but sure.

seems at least most of sandy/godwin and harris are fenced too, at least from my drive around.

i found out today from my mother that she has a friend who is friends with one of the high fence owners. apparently he is a bigtime hunter. i don't believe his place is doing any breeding (it's a lot smaller), but the larger high fenced ranch just south of it could be.

After I dropped off our applications on Monday I drove up to Paradise Cove North of the Refuge on the lake. It's 15 minutes away and has full hookups.

I may be staying there.

Paradise Cove is where I've stayed, close, nice and during the hunts private. I could step around the trailer and- you get the picture.

They will also give you a key or etc to come and go as you please.

just playing around with google earth a bit tonight and it's great !!!!

i am currently plotting all the deer feeders on the private land that backs up to hagerman. my guess is there are trails in the refuge leading to them...

might be advantageous...

i've already found 1 stand and 3 feeders. 2 of feeders are fenced, so no good for hogs going to that one, but during deer season

i've barely scratched the surface !!!

i have identified and GPS marked around 45 feeders that are so close to the hag boundaries they have to be pulling wildlife from the refuge.

time to scout for those trails

Friends of Hagerman sent out an e-mail this morning. Segment A is full and B had about 45 spots left.

Guessing I will be getting my post card and check back that I mailed yesterday.

I was not expecting a first to apply hunt but I will be from now on

I would have mailed mine last Thursday or Friday if I had known

Well, my check cleared the bank early this morning. I mailed it from Plano on Monday. Maybe I got lucky.

I just sent mine in this morning, hoping for a spot in seg. B since the seg. A is already full. We will see I guess. Dan let me know if you hear anything about yours getting accepted today.
