2015 Hagerman Hog Hunt: Segment-A

i've noticed several different agriculture plots inside the hagerman boundaries.

are these leased to someone?

The fields are planted by the refuge as a food source for the native wildlife, and migratory birds.

They don't allow varmint hunting because it is still a wildlife refuge. The hog hunting is because of the damage the hogs are doing, and the deer hunting is done for population control.

Coyotes and bobats do not root up land, and do not kill enough deer annually to have a major impact on the herd, so they will stay off limits.

Yep.

Also I believe that baiting is not allowed because of the potential to spread disease, not necessarily to the porkers but to the deer that would come to the bait as well.
