    Snake bit buck?

This buck showed up two days ago in very poor condition. My son tried to bow hunt him but he would not get near any other deer. Son killed him this morning to end his suffering. I thought he had been shot but upon examination could find no evidence of that. Bones were all intact. He was down to about 80 pounds live. He was badly infected. The leg had severe muscle necrosis. Biologist looked at it and thinks it is from a snake bite. Anyone ever seen this?
Low fence Kendall county. Bucks left antler fell off when he hit the mud. He scored 135.

I wouldn't eat it ! Agree that the buck needed some relief though.

Buck barely had any muscle structure. No way we would eat a deer that sick.

His left antler came off when he fell. I think his body was just falling apart.
