Secondly, the deers body position is vital. I will not take a shot unless it's perfect. I don't care how big the deer is.

Third, I will not take a shot on a deer that is restless or jumpy.

Lastly, unless the deer falls in sight, I will not get out of the stand for at least an hour. EVER.

These are not for your education but for my own reinforcement.

I totally get ya!! All these lost deer I have had have been real good shots, right behind the shoulder 3/8-1/2 way up. I'm setting that pin right were it needs to be for 10-15 seconds before I touch off. And I see the arrow entrance right were I'm aiming. It's just one of those things that I gotta figure out how to figure out what's going wrong and get outa the slump. I changed broadheads last night so hopefully that's a step foward. Went to a 4 blade instead of a 3. Thank ya for the advice!

Shot a big doe this morning earlier, still in stand hoping another shooter deer comes on by. Lots of movement today after the big rains last night. Turning out to be pretty nice.
