real simple to me buddy; what's in the written contract?
if it states the last day to hunt is Jan 18th, then I'd be hunting...take me to court or call LEO (but I'd be hunting with contract in hand) because a deal is a deal IMO...
if it does not state Jan 18th & this was purely verbal, IMO you're screwed...
sorry to hear ya going through this whether it's your fault or not...

The smaller the place, the more the presence of people is felt. You probably didn't do anything other than hunt more than the owner would have liked or expected.
If you have taken more than a couple of animals off of a place that size you are probably overhunting it. That can also be an irritation to landowners.
Good luck finding another place. January hunting tends to be rather dull any how. I usually try to wrap up my hunting by the end of November just because late season hunting tends to be pretty boring.

What kind of deer are on this 150 acres?

These guys are people too, you have your good ones and your bad ones. Lots of them know that it almost doesn't matter as there's a line of hunters waiting with cash in hand right behind the unhappy ones who leave. Seems like they just shrug and don't care. My last few places have been great without any problems but we've had our issues, we had one owner decide to bring all his grandkids down to shoot deer for Christmas when they were in town. Two of the guys on that lease ended up with a stack of hay bails and a kid with a gun 50 yards away from the stands they'd been hunting all year. They were told if they didn't like it they're welcome to pack their stuff and leave. Obviously this was not agreed to in the contract.
I think it's important to get all the specifics and details in the contract, especially lease start and end dates, and even then it's really just a technicality as a lawsuit will just cost more money anyway.
