Friend from my office sent me this... thought I would share it...
GOD bless and Merry Christmas everyone!!!!

    "One Vacant Chair"
When members are absent from the family feast we set out a vacant chair in their honor. Many people have loved ones who are sacrificing their time and effort so we can come together in freedom and comfort. There are Military, who keep us free. Police and Firemen who keep us safe. Health care workers who comfort and heal, uniting loved ones. Even Food Handlers who work on holidays, so people with no families can have a place to go and be with other people, even if it's strangers. Oil field operators who provide the energy for all the others to do their jobs and help us travel the distances to unite the family.
This vacant chair helps to remind us of all the people whose unselfish acts bring many families, and strangers, together. Though they are not with us physically, they are with us in spirit. We pray for their continued safety and our reunion with them.
Thank You for all you do.
May God bless and a "MERRY CHRISTMAS to all !!!.

I get all this "love the vets" stuff, but it seems to go down the tubes when we have to sacrifice a bit (like a holiday wat home). Excuse my venting .... well, don't excuse it .... take it aboard. I just get irriated at the whining over nothing.
There are a lot of us that have paid our dues that aren't venting or whining.
And, it is great to see programs like Wounded Warriors bring vets to the fore front and show some love and respect.

You seem to have an axe to grind. Hope your Xmas gets better. Stop trying to poop on everyone elses.

I rotate overseas, am in Angola for Christmas this year. Left December 18 and come home Jan 19. It is noon on Xmas day here and I am in office

Just part of working 5 weeks on and 5 weeks off, take the good with the bad. Having half the year off and being paid for it is pretty sweet
