My grandfather said to me one day. " Its not what people say about you when you are here but what they say about you when you are gone that is important." There was a lot of great things said about JP Saturday.

Jason's remembrance was a very touching insight into a man I only knew part of. RIP JP

I only got to know JP a short time before he passed away. We got to do one fishing trip on the coast and it made me realize how unlucky I was not to have met him sooner. You would have never known the man was sick. Hopefully I do my part and we will meet each other again.

I was fortunate to have met JP and his family. I still remember that fishing trip like it was yesterday. His life lessons are being put to use on my baby boy. I was lucky to have met him. JP still lives on.

Had a wonderful dinner with JP not too long before he passed. His spirit was amazing. I just thought I had handled my cancer scares well. He was almost supernaturally positive and uplifting.

I hate that I'm just seeing this. One thing I can tell you from knowing JP, he was proud of those boys! Rip brother

Nice move bringing this one back to the surface Jeff.

JP left some clothes in my closet when he and his old band mates came to Dallas to open for David Coverdale (White Snake). Consequently, I think of him every time I open that closet.

Turns out JP was a hell of a drummer and vocalist.

I don’t have the images of JP’s band. They are on a crashed hard drive. This was David Coverdale after JP’s set.

JP fought the good cancer fight like no other man that I’ve witnessed. On so many levels he’s a model for us all.

Good stuff, Bill. I was reading through some old conversations with JP a couple of days ago.

I always hate to use the word "just" because it kinda downplays things if it's used too much but...... JP was just an all around good dude.
