Brad Sullivan does indeed have a monster yearling that was AI sired by Maxbo. It is actually co-owned with the owner of Maxbo - Dave McQuaig in OK.

People have been speculating about the score, but I doubt he has been officially scored yet. It would be foolish to dart an animal that's worth that much just to score him before he's done growing.

Brad will likely sell all he wants at 10k per straw, and it is common to pre-sell or take orders for straws off a spectacular deer like this before he is actually collected. He will likely be collected and scored sometime soon after he polishes up.

That deer doesn't look right. Sorry, not a big fan of a tiny-bodied deer that is pumped so full of protein it looks deformed. Not for me. I like my deer the way I like my women, "au naturale".

Protien has very little to do with the way that deer looks. It is the genetics that make him what he is, not protien

That is simply not true. Take him out of that pen where all he eats is protien and put him on an overgrazed hill country pasture and see if he looks like that. I guarantee you you wouldnt even recognize him.

It simply is true - take the buck in your avatar and put him in a pen and fill him with protien nonstop and see if he grows to 285". You will notice that I said the protien has very little to do with that deer being what he is. Maybe I should have said compared to the genetics that deer has been given, protien has very little to do with the way that deer looks

At the risk of sounding weird, how in the world do they collect their, um, product? I am thinking that is one job I do not want!

I have never been involved in that process, but I would love to see how it is done. I have helped remove CEDARS and AI, but never semen extraction

Genetics is nothing but potential. Him never wanting for anything his entire life has helped him fullfill that potential to it's fullest. I agree he has exceptional genetics, no doubt, but both of those factors play a major part. I think we are on the same page her just using different words to say it.

I don't think I want to be on the receiving end of the process. You dart them and wait till they are out good and insert a metal probe up their rectum...hook it up to a special battery/transformer...get ready to "catch" and pop em in the prostate with the electrical current...*pop!*...the semen is then divided up into "straws"....little one CC glass tubes which are then capped and dropped into liquid nitrogen for storage.

That deer is probably really sore if his owner gets $10,000 a LOAD....
