Guys I know I got screwed and I know I should learn to skin and quarter myself. Temps are always mild and borderline hot the days I kill deer so I am paranoid about losing the meat based on how slow I would be. I hunt alone. Reason I took it to the place in question was I thought price was same at both so I'd I could get it in freezer faster at this place then no worries. If it's 75 or 80 at each place then it was a moot point so I though.
I knew I would take a major flaming and ripping due to this post but dang folks some response on here are pretty judgemental and just adding Sally in the wound. I never flame. I bet some of you.spend your money for things I wouldn't. Just wanted to try to help someone else from making same mistake as I did.
I am not rich by any means. I am sorry I choose to spend my money to get my deer processed. I wish I had the skills to do some of the things you do as fast as you do but I don't have the ability but am willing to learn.
Again only reason I posted this up was to try to help others.Last edited by ted_kennedys_liver; 12-17-2014, 09:41 PM.

Try this method. I have used it for hogs and deer when I was in the woods by myself.
There are also several quality videos on YouTube that show similar methods. Also, there are some good how-to deboning videos.
Keep a cooler with you so when you kill one on a warm day you have a cool place to put it.
I enjoy the processing of my own deer.

Sounds like my first experience, $500 later I just about told them to keep the ice chest and deer. But it was my fault for not asking so I payed up

Hopkins co locker does mine. Take EM a gutted deer- steak and grind $55
Had a 200# buck done a few weeks ago. Backstraps cut in half, tenderloins whole, grind everything else and 16# jap/ cheese as =$100
I ain't cleaning my kitchen for $55
I just finished quartering and camping a friends buck while ago. From start to finish took 30 min. I can knock a doe out in under 15 easy, but last one I processed myself tool hours of misery. If they charged me $200 next time I'd pay it before I do another

But yet you have time to sit hours at a time to sit in the stand waiting for a shot. No offense my friend but you should really learn and pass down the knowledge to our younger generation.

To each their own. What some people would spend their money on some would not. What others view as wasteful some do not.
