Well it's been a long time that have hunted the hill country, I took this doe and she was the biggest. I'm use to them piney woods deer or south texas deer. One down three to go. I know my shot was a little high forward but the slick trick only let her make it 30 yrds.

These deer are on super high alert as good as I have blinds brushed in they still know something is out of place

Well bad news for wife, the spike she took looked like it was hit by car week or two previous, gang green had set in and the park rangers said he could not let her keep it just in case and I did not want it as maggots were on it already. She was sad to say the least. But on a high note it did not come off her quota for hunt.

Had a chance at more doe but all about same size as the other I took, just can't get in my head that the deer in hill country are not as heavy, we have deer meat and three more hunts and we only get two whitetail, so I held off. Hoping for some black buck or axis. Hope I did not make a wrong decision, some of the other hunters did not see anything. Will keep yall posted.
