I hunt and have family in Hallettsville and grew up not far from Edna, true salt of the Earth people.

That's an amazing amount of generosity for such small towns in a very short amount of time.

This tragedy has hit the area down here very hard and with all the other stuff happening in the United States it's nice to see great stories like this and be proud we're from Texas.I read the story in the Victoria paper last week about Trey Ganem, what a great guy.

What's even more amazing than scoring 50 last week is that on Edna's final touchdown, they elected to not take the extra point, which left them at 50. What an amazing tribute for a fellow player.

That is great to hear. There are a lot more good people than bad. It's just the bad that wins out on the media.

I agree. I would watch the news if stuff like this was on it.

Trey Ganem, a local jack of all trades, made custom caskets for the family that were out of this world. And to top it off, last week Edna H.S. played Tom Moore H.S. in a playoff game and won. But that's not the end of it. Tom Moore H.S. and the town of Ingram presented the family of this young man who lost his life a check for around $16000, yes that's 3 zeros. Then, last night in Rosenberg, Edna played Halletsville H.S. and won and Halletsville presented the family a check for over $19000. I know no amount of money will bring this Edna Cowboy back, but the communities of Ingram and Halletsville, as well as Trey Ganem should be commended for their huge generocity. Makes me proud to be a Texan when so many others look at us as backwoods and behind the times because of our beliefs. So if your from these areas, the entire community of Jackson County thanks you.

Just goes to show, there are still good folks in this state of Texas. God bless all that had a part in this. May their gifts be used in such a way to honor the fallen.
