Taxidermy Problems... call him out or let it go?

Ok, so back in September I went to Mason on an Axis hunt. I have never killed one and always wanted one on the wall. I ended up killing a really nice one so I took it straight to the taxidermist that was nearby. I asked him if I had left enough cape for a wall pedestal mount and he got his tape measure out and measured it and said I had left way more than enough. So I told him that's what I wanted and left it with him. He called me about 3 weeks later and told me it was ready to pick up. Since I don't go to Mason I had my buddy pick it up for me on his next trip to his lease and keep it at his house in Katy until I could get with him and pick it up. He was coming near me today so I went and picked it up from him. I honestly can't believe what I'm looking at. It looks like he mounted my Axis and then after he finished it he added more to the back of the form with some more hide stretched over it. I think he completely mounted the thing and then realized the antlers wouldn't allow it to hang on the wall so he added more to the form for clearance. There is a seam there I can literally stick my finger in. He also said on the back he would put something that would look like rocks and it would look really cool. It looks nothing like rocks. It looks more like a dog chewed one corner of the form off. The mouth on the thing looks horrible also. I'm pretty bummed. I was planning to only ever kill this 1 and hang it in my house and it's not at all what I pictured getting back. Do I call the guy and confront him or let it go and move on?

            LMFAO WOW!!!

This is absolutely terrible. I would talk with him about getting it completely redone or get your money back

You should have known something immediately with only a 3 week turnaround!!!!

I don't see how anyone could let that out of their shop thinking it was even acceptable.

To me, it looks like he did a regular shoulder mount before he realized that it was supposed to be a wall pedestal.
Other than remounting it (which it's not hard to get a replacement cape), I don't see a way to fix it.

And I'd be demanding a refund on that one ... unless the rest of the stuff in his shop looked like crap too.

Wow. Just wow. That form doesn't even look like a form that would be used on an axis. I'm no expert but have two axis hanging and they are much bigger than that. The "add on" form has me blown away.
