I bought the Barnett penetrator it was in my budget. I can agree it's heavy but it is accurate as I've done research I've learned not a lot of people like Barnett but it has served me well. I think if a person keeps up with maintenance and takes care of there equipment they should not have a problem

Crossbows - Why did you go with Parker or Barnett

no offense to anyone who shoots a Barnett, but to the guys on here who haven't had an issue with their Barnett are in a select group. The jackal, Quad 400, c-5 wildcat have given me issues for YEARS in the service world. I will admit that Barnett is usually very good with warranty stuff, but how they stay in business giving so many parts away for free is above me. The constant issue with jackals is broken strings after minimal shots (sometimes no more than 10). The Quad 400 is terrible on limbs and have to in the shop now with shattered limbs, the c5 is a mix of these issues, and the new raptor has been tearing up strings as well. I used to think this was all user induced, but after seeing the exact same issues 20-30 (not joking ) times a year I've learned that it is just a poorly built product sold at a low price. What you have to ask yourself is if it is sold for 249-300 then how much money does the company put into the build? Maybe 150-175. Again my intentions are not to rag on Barnett users at all. I just think the company needs to sell a more reliable product after servicing their bows so often in the shop.
