Crossbows - Why did you go with Parker or Barnett

Doing some research as to why some went with Parker or Barnett as opposed to some of the other lines.

Was it strictly a budget decision?

If it was a primarily a budget based decision did you try any of the other lower priced lines?

Barnett Quad 400, price $350 on sale usually. Very accurate.

Before I bought my Parker, I had the Barnett Quad 400 in hand. The archery guys at Cabela's were nice enough to steer me away from it. They stated that 90% of repairs they made were on the Quad 400. Now don't shoot the messenger here, just passing on what they told me. It was three to four years ago so things might have changed. They also said they were hard to find hard cases for because the butt is so tall. Soft cases won't protect a good investment such as these.

Just FYI - I am not looking to purchase a Barnett or Parker, but rather trying to determine reason for the purchase of a Parker or Barnett and/or the reason you went with one of them.

I have the Barnett Vengance. Super quiet. Very fast. Very expensive. Comes with scope

I bought a Barnett when I had shoulder surgery because it was cheap. I'm a bow hunter and only needed the crossbow until I recovered. I killed three deer with it. It was well worth it to be, and did what I needed it to do.

I think it's worth it to spend a little extra and go with the Mission crossbow

Budget reason. Bought my wife a Jakyl. Had a problem with the trigger assembly and Barnette made it right. It works great. I wouldn't hesitate to buy another one. The quad 400 is junk from what I hear though

We bought a Barnett 150 several years ago. It was strictly based on budget and I couldn't tell you how it rates with other xbows, but it's fast, accurate and hasn't failed us yet. For less than $200' I'm not complaining.

For the samr readon I would buy an igloo or coleman before I bought a Yeti - I am not into spending extra $ that I dont have to

I had a barnett Raptor FX. I chose it because it was light weight. And I do mostly stalking so i am carring it always. But after noticing the bolt was not seating on the rail all the way to the end I returned it and spent another $100 on the Barentt Brotherhood. I love it but it gets heavy after an hour and I am constantly switching it between hands.
I just added a Nikon Bolt XR scope and it is 10 times better than the orig. scope.
So it boiled down to this.

3rd. price
