If it weren't for Charlie Wilson from Lufkin, there would be NO Big Thicket left today. The timber companies would have raped the land to the point there would have been no oak timber left... ain't much for a deer to eat on a pine tree... I know the deer come back, but not like they were when the big timber was there... squirrel hunting was the best there on the planet... no more. The big cypress trees along the bayou some were 8 feet and bigger in diameter... most hollow.. they just cut em down and left them lay... what a crying shame... Yea, I know we can hunt once again in a few years after they are done, but it sure will NEVER be the same again.

OK, Rant over, carry on... sorry to hijack your thread. Like I said, I'm sorry to hear this has happened to you. I know EXACTLY how you feel.
Don't worry about the highjack, no big deal. This part of my lease they are going to cut actually isn't a timber company it is an individual owner so that why I was so surprised that they came in to cut early.

Haha, this is what I'm hoping for

Just a phone call that the logging company asked us to move our stands and feeders pens this weekend. Luckily there were 5 of our guys there this weekend and they were able to move my stuff for me. Let me tell you that wasn't an easy task with the protein feeder, panels, stands, etc. I owe those guys big time because they did it for me without hesitation. I wish they would've called me so I could have helped though. I guess they didn't want to bother me with it since me and one other guy are gonna be the ones affected by the clear cutting.

I was sure hoping the logging company would've left those few trees inside my pen and the ones my stands were on. At least that way there would've been a few trees last on that ridge. One of our guys said the will be at my place before the end of the week so now I don't get to make my last hunt there either.

Send them my way! I have a contract on my timber and have been waiting six months for the saws to show up.... to heck with the hunting.
