don't put a top on the trap and the deer will likely just jump out.

I think you should try all the above ideas at different locations if you are trapping on a big enough piece of ground. See which works best for you.

I dug a 3' hole and filled it with corn and hogwild and the hogs made a hole big enough for my 7yo daughter to sit in.

Don't think that pigs won't climb out. I've seen them do it before!

Also, if you use food scraps for bait, like the old folks used to use to "slop the hogs"... you won't have a deer issue. Couple professional hog control folks I know have a deal with some mesican food places to save their waste in those plastic trash barrels... perfect for hogs, not so much for deer unless there's too many corn chips in the mix...

Build a corral trap out of utility panels. Hogs can't jump it and can't climb it. No corners ! Eight foot wide by five foot tall drop gate. Deer will jump in or jump out. Triggered by a bucket full of dirt on the far side of the trap balanced on a board and stick. Wire comes from bucket to a pin holding the gate in the up position. Hog hits stick, bucket falls, pin comes out, gate drops, hogs sad, and you glad !

Man I just keep a 5 gallon bucket of soured corn around all the time. They are PIGS! They will eat anything. Throw table scraps in there and anything else cheap.

5 gallon bucket of corn. Fill it up with milk and beer to the top. Put a lid on it set it out. When you open it and have trouble not throwing up you're ready
