Thanks man it's already over. That would've been music to my ears 2hours ago.

I'm a mess but feel a bit relieved. She seemed to know what was about to happen. She fought at first then finally calmed down. I'm not the same guy I was this morning. That was rough. She wasn't even my horse but the owner passed away early this year and I've been taking care of her knowing this day was coming sooner then I thought though.

This is usually the best way to go. Quick. Painless. Cheap.

You should have contacted the vet or the sheriff's office.

Sorry you had to go through that.

Sorry brother. I would rather put down a child molester than the meanest ol' horse.

None of my business but what is wrong with the horse?

Large caliber bullet. In the forehead about two inches above the eyeline. I have had the best results with this method on a horse. Don't just go between the eyes, you need to raise it up some to get the brain. There are other techniques for other animals but this one works best for a horse.

Sorry, I read too fast to see that it was taken care of. My condolences!

I have a grandfather in law that shot his horse 6 times with a 45 LC and my brother finally put it down with his 45-70

He was doing it wrong. 45LC is plenty to get the job done.

Sorry brother. Realize the horse is no longer suffering and you did the right thing. Now horse and owner are riding the golden streets together.
