personally i would smoke him and have it fixed. I know some are not into it because it is not how the deer was when he was taken, but it does not bother me to have a little cosmetic work done!

If your want him scored for the books, then let him walk. Personally even if I shoot a book deer he will probably not be entered and I am a P&Y scorer. Too much emphasis put on "score" today in my opinion. If it was me, I would smoke him, especially for that area if he is considered "big" and would be your largest buck to date.

He is considered a nice buck, not necessarily a "BIG" buck. He is not my biggest buck I've shot but he is the nicest I have on camera this year
