Just consider it lesson learned, i.e., quarter to shots with bow are low percentage shots.

Good job sticking with the recovery effort. Sorry it didn't work out, but you gave it the effort required.

I've lost a buck of a lifetime once (thought it was a solid shot with bow but...). It happens.

OP, man I know it's hard to loose that deer. I helped a buddy of mine look for his first buck with a bow yesterday and we did not find him. He was almost to years and I can't say I blame him. Keep your head up and try it again!! You'll get er done!! Oh, and no more quartering to shots!!! They usually don't pan out right. Good luck bud!!!
