Yep, I work on a drilling rig and we have a few. But I'm not one to sit there in take it. If you have a legitimate gripe about a mistake I made ok I'll listen to what you have to say. If you come in to my drill shack complaining about the rig in general or another department well then you can TYA on out of here. I got a job to do.

BUT, there have been several different offices that I've visited in the past that bring it upon themselves. Case in point............if I have an appointment at 1pm, I'm usually there 10-15 minutes early to fill out a books worth of paperwork by my appointment time. If I am made to wait (through no fault of my own) more than 5-10 minutes past my appt time, I'll start getting ticked off. I had one Dr that I had to wait for almost an hour past my appt time before I was even called to the back, then another 30 minutes before the Dr came in. Sorry, that's disrespectful of your patients.

EDIT: Please don't take this as a dig at you personally. It's just a trend that I've noticed for the last few years in the medical field.
I definitely don't take it personal. I'm a nurse and that is my pet peeve when I go see the doctor. I do personally try to keep my patients well Informed as my doctor tends to run behind. I find if I tell them, check on them and don't Ignore them, they are more understanding. It's mostly the college kids that feel like I owe them to stop helping the patient I am currently with to deal with them. And then go off and act like a jerk when I ask them to please have a seat, I'll be with them as soon as I can. I usually let them throw a fit. And then I say, yes ma'am but if you'll have a seat I'll be with you in a moment... Thanks. And really I'm thinking, meet me in the parking lot you tit suck and I'll show you who should come first. Lol. I too find that people in general just are selfish and don't give a rats butt about anyone but themselves and I wasn't raised that way. It's so disappointing.... The bright side....me, my doc and my coworkers are all friends and it's an awesome work environment. Even as the lead nurse for the department, I have no probs.

53 percent of the words "customer service" is CUSTOMER!

            I'm a giver unless you're a taker!

It can also be said from the customer side as well. I can not stand it when I am a paying customer and the store employee could give a rats arse about being there. Restaurants, hotels, flight attendants, etc......

But the worst is the US Post Office counter help. I will pay extra to mail something just so I do not have to go there.

I own my own business, but also have other income sources, in my business, I have the right to refuse service to anyone and if someone doesn't mind their P's and Q's, they can walk out the door they came in. And I do believe the world is becoming overpopulated with jackwagons.

Having my own business and not really needing to work any more has given me power that I didn't have when I was younger. Get snarky with me and you can leave. I'll even help you leave.

I'm sorry to hear of this.Reading above I see that you are a nurse, so I need to apologize I reckon. I am an old, wore out, no fuse left fart that needs to chill. However, when I have been trying to get my doctor to check out the severe pain in my left side for the last year and a half and they finally do, only to find out that they ordered a chest scan for the CT scan it is hard to chill. Just getting in to see her is a, well you know, and when I do I have 15 minutes to get it across to her what I'm there for. I really do hate it that folks are getting more cross but geesh, we kinda have a reason most of the time anymore. Thank you for what you do.

I understand. I was recently in a wreck and have a T3 and T4 fracture. I followed up with my pcp and he was there foe like 5 minutes and. Didn't order anything to help me. I like him because he's conservative and doesn't jump the gun. However this is more severe and I was so irritated he didn't take more time. Why play with this? I need a neurosurgeon for all the issues I'm having. I had to call back and demand a referral. Thank god I'm a nurse and know the gig and my doctor I work for cares enough for me to help me push things forward. I'm sorry you have to deal with that. Be persistent. You pay them to take care of you. No one has to be ugly acting but no one should get short changed. Demanding appropriate service is not ugly. Throwing a temper tantrum is. I'm sure you don't act like the college kids I take care of. They have a you-owe-me attitude. I can bet you don't have that attitude. Stand up for what you need in healthcare. Too many doctors are pushed to meet a certain amount of patients so they spend a few minutes and move on. Bad business. My doctor flicks his nose at the system. He's so thorough a new patient is usually there for about an hour and a half trying to get everything done for them that we can. Most of our patients walk out amazed that he took the time. That's what we need more of it healthcare. We are not cattle. Thats what gets people misdiagnosed.

I completely understand/feel the same way. But I also have some leverage against them. If it gets too bad they get to borrow shiny bracelets and go for a car ride. Lol

Next time, point out to them the time you are losing for them and others like them where had that time been with the current and previous patients, you could have possibly been tending to them by that time.

Just a thought. Gets the point across, maybe they will think twice next time.

Inside every rude obnoxious beligerent jackarse who loves the sound of his own voice and feels that he can scream at someone he thinks is beneath him simply because hes a customer is the heart of a young man that needs to be taught a lesson.
I know this..because I've reached into that jackarse chest and pulled out his beating heart and showed it to him.
