Pistol or revolver while bowhunting?

Ok so I don't routinely carry while bowhunting... Some recent comments and my hubby crossing paths with a hog last weekend in the dark has now made me decide to change that... the hubby and i are in disagreement about which would be better to carry...

So, which do you prefer? Pistol or revolver?

I prefer a pistol much like a revolver but semi automatic

If I would it'd be My everyday carry sig .380. I already lug in a backpack full of stuff and usually leave that back at camp to keep things lite as possible.

Revolver.Have more of a chance to be accurate and not blow away 10 - 15 shots,just my opinion, do you need fire power or accuracy ,both will do the job

Started taking my wifes 357. Fits in my pocket, or cargo pocket easier. Having a gun on my hip with a harness plus packing a stand and pack make quick access hard to accomplish. I like it. Need to get me one now.

That would be my question what Caliber .380 my just make a big hog ****** off, i would carry nothing smaller .38 special or 40 cal

I don't carry, but my wife does. She has a .380 semi auto handgun now. Last year she had a pack of Coyotes stare her down as she was walking to the 4 wheeler. They saw her and didn't run away it scared her really bad. She will take a gun with her every time now

I'll be carrying my .357 mag. But what I would suggest is what shoots the most natural for you, and that you can safely and efficiently operate.

Both? Haha, I carry my glock in .40 when its nasty out because you just can't ruin those things. I take the .45 LC out when it's nice because it has thump behind it.
