I would suggest Oklahoma. You can get mountain property starting at $700/acre. But if stuck on TX, look east Texas, buy a smaller tract that borders national forest and put in food plots

There is some good hunting out toward Rock Spring & further west. Just make sure if you are buying you aren't surrounded by small tracts ,unless they have some kind of coop or under a management plan. It can get shot out real quick. 1 other concern out there in some of that area is anthrax. Its not a question of if ,but when. Research the area you are looking in GOOD & get you a KNOWLEDGEABLE realtor that knows the area & is a hunter,so they understand what you want. Good luck! Nothing like having your own place!!Last edited by DUKFVR; 10-05-2014, 09:09 PM.

If you need a good breakdown on price vs. how much land cost and what you can afford here is a good place http://www.texashuntingland.com/ I recently bought my land from these guy, everything was smooth and I am enjoying my own land. I used Tom Watts, if he helps you let him know that Thomason off TBH sent you.
