    Where to Buy Land

I want to buy some land. I'm talking about real land. Say 100+ acres, not an oversized yard. If I had 100k to work with, where could I get the most bang for my buck? I want something recreational, not farm land. I know I'm gonna have to look West but how far? I live between Austin and SA and want something close enough I can use. Is this doable or only a dream?

Prices I have been seeing that 100k will be a decent down payment for 100+ acre ranch land.

I know out west is pretty cheap, but there are quite a few 100 acre ranches down south going for around $1400ish/ac without improvements or minerals.

You are gonna either have to cut your acreage down or up the $$.

How much land is possible for the price do you think? I'm looking for enough to play/hunt on. Possibly build a house 25+ years down the road.

Look on Lands of Texas between Rock Springs and Del Rio (Edwards County). There is 93 acres for 100K. I never went to look at it but you may want to. Has a tank and a small camp of some kind and electricity. I am looking for something with a well and good fencing.

Doable in West Texas, not in the hill country.

What about places out in Terrell county. Get you 400 acres for $100k.

Crockett county around Ozona or Terrell county. you are looking for 100 acres at 100k. Hard to find land that is 1k per acre these days. It exists but you gotta be willing to look for it.

Paid 2k an acre for my place in North East Texas. It was the cheapest I found a couple years ago.

Your gonna have to lower your acreage.

The 100+ acres you find for that money won't be much to "work with"

Honestly 40-50 acres somewhere with cover would give you more to do. Its also a dang good ways west to get that or Rocksprings possibly.

More acres and money but this is a good deal I think.
