I think it is $2 an arrow if the arrows are not purchased there.

Been a customer there only twice in one year and that was only because I needed some hunting items in a hurry. Doubt I'll ever shop there again.

There is no way in HELL I would get my bow worked on by one of the big box stores, cabelas, gander etc., any sooner than I would bring it to wal-mart to be worked on. I've seen fools that have no business working on a bow with little to zero knowledge of them at more than one of these big stores multiple times. Find you a good pro-shop that has a REAL bow technician.

I almost got out of this but really archery season is here and you need arrows made..?? I'm surprised anyone would stop doing what they were doing to make arrows that a bowhunter should have had done a month or so ago......Lesson to be learned, by trying to save a few bucks on amazon, if you would support your local archery shop and not a mass marketer, you would have arrows done by someone that is an expert at making them and not a person that was flipping hamburgers last week at McDonalds.....

Sorry but if you are trying to make this "ganders" fault you are barking up the wrong tree. He HAS arrows he is using, he bought some new arrows (doesn't matter where they came from....that is irrelevant) He then brought the arrows to a store he lives 5 minutes from to have SIMPLE SIMPLE things done to them............. YES without a single doubt in any of our minds the guys at Precision Archery are by far the best guys around for our archery needs however they are still over 40 minutes away.......something as simple as the tasks gander was needing completed should have EASILY been taken care of by a basic hunting store. Gander Mountain screwed his arrows up............. Im sorry but you have NO business working in the archery dept. at one of the biggest hunting stores in town if you cannot simply turn on an arrow saw, use a fletching tool and glue or correctly install an insert...........

This ain't about gander, its about GANDER MOUNTAIN and the lack of trained personnel in their archery dept. as well as rude management.

Well I had a bad experience with these guys last night after they screwed up some arrows that I bought off of Amazon. Heres the story: I ordered a dozen Easton Axis 340 blanks off of Amazon because I have a Prime account and can get a dozen shipped to my door for right at $100, it is $69.99 for a half dozen of these from Gander Mountain. Well, typically I go to Academy and get Tater to put my arrows together, but he was out and wouldn't be back in before I leave for Junction this Thursday, so I said what the hell I go to Gander and get them to put the arrows together for me, how hard can it be for them. Big mistake.

I get to Gander and bring in my box of arrows and one of my old arrows. Walk up to the archery counter and wait for 10-15 minutes until I am helped. Eventually an associate comes up and asks what he can do for me. I tell him I would like these arrows cut and setup the exact same way as my old arrow, he says, no problem come back in 30-45 minutes. I go run a few errands and come back. I wait another 15 or so minutes until somebody will see me, and the guy comes out who apparently "built" my arrows.

He hands me the box and I go to walk out. When I get to my truck I think, you idiot, you didn't even check to make sure he did them correctly. I look in the box and there are no fletchings and the inserts are not installed, I should have taken this warning sign and just done it myself. I go back inside and walk back to the same guy.

I get his attention and point out that he had not done what I asked, he apologized and said that he wasn't sure if I wanted him to because a lot of guys just want the arrows cut, although I showed him how I wanted them setup. He also says that he didn't think I wanted the inserts put in because the arrow I gave him didn't have the insert in it either. This should have been the main clue to get outta there now, because the guy was not even aware that the Easton Axis have the hidden inserts, but the thought didn't cross my mind at the time. Well he takes them back and apologizes again and says, please come back in an hour and he'd have them setup. Well my brother lives about a mile away and has a range in his backyard to 60 yards so I made the best of the time I had and went over there to shoot.

Well an hour is almost up and I'm about to head that way when a buddy calls and asks where I'm at. I tell him, he says ok, I'm at Gander getting arrows cut, so I ask him to snag mine for me and meet us at the house, to which he agrees. Well he shows up and immediately says you're gonna be mad. I look in the box and again there are no fletchings on the arrows. I decide to cut my losses and will run to Precision archery the next day and get fletchings put on. The thought occurs to me to check the inserts, this is when it gets bad.

I pull an arrow out and immediately know these arrows are done. The jackwagon has superglued the inserts in flush to the edge of the arrow. I then pull out a field point and try to screw one in, get this, he glued the inserts in backwards! So I immediately hop in my truck and race back over there. I ask for a manager and they call him.

I'm greeted by an assistant manager who you can already tell is having a bad day and not looking to deal with anybody at the moment. He asks whats wrong and I give him the entire demonstration about the H.I.T. and how one done correctly is supposed to look and how they did mine. He is now showing his frustration and asks who did the arrows? I told him the guys name and pointed him out. So we both walk back there. He asks the associate if he did my arrows, to which he responds yes. He asks him if he was aware that he did them incorrectly, to which he says he didn't then looks to me to explain what he could have done wrong. I show him and he says, oh sorry. The manager asks if he can have a second, and I said sure and him and the associate go in the back.

I wait for almost 30 minutes with not one appearance from them, I get the attention of an associate trying to sell a gun, he says I'll be with you in a second, I said no, get those two guys from the back up here now, I'm tired of waiting on something they screwed up, there is a very simple solution and that is to replace the arrows. The manager comes out about a minute later.

He says, this is what we can do, I was just looking up on the internet, apparently there is a chemical solvent that we can order that if we apply it should release the glue and we can pull the inserts out and we can redo it. I laugh and say, no I don't want you to "redo" or "fix" what ya'll screwed up, I want what I walked in here with, brand new arrows. He chuckles back, that's not going to happen. He said you didn't buy these arrows from us technically he's not even supposed to work on arrows unless they come from us. I said well whose fault is that and why would ya'll offer the service if not? We go back and forth and I use a few choice words, and he demands I leave and escorts me out. On the way out I request the store managers number which he refuses to give me.

So I go back this morning, walk into the front desk and ask for a store manager. The clerk says I can get you a manager to which I said, no a store manager and he obliges. She comes up and I explain what happened the evening before and apologize for losing my cool and using some of the words that I used but also let her know that I had never been treated with such disrespect from someone who is supposed to be in a management type position. She says that they will replace the arrows with a dozen of the ones they had in stock.

Long story short, I am not sure how that place continues to keep its doors open. I actually was the original employees that helped put this store together, so I saw first hand how bass ackwards this company is run. I was placed in camping, which I do very little of. I worked next to the archery department which I've done since I was 6-7 years old. Out of the 6 guys working in the archery department at that time, only 2 actually had bows. I was constantly getting pulled outta my department to help tie in a peep, or cut arrows, or refletch arrows then when I wasn't in my station would catch an earful from a manager. Do yourself a favor guys and support a local shop.

                            Rant over.
Your the first I have ever heard of having Gander work on your archery gear. That is a mistake and has been for years.

I have arrows, in fact have over a dozen already, but when I find myself with some cash burning a hole in my pocket then, as many people do, I decide to buy something I might want at the time, which in this case was a dozen arrows. As far as saving a few bucks, try $50, and pardon me for trying to look out for myself and getting a better deal.

Seems like you would only have saved around $16, before tax, if they hadn't messed up your arrows. One dozen arrows ($100) times approximately $2/arrow is $24 to get complete arrows. You said they sell the complete arrows for about $70/six arrows so that is $140. 140-124=16. The time you spent waiting for them to do the job, if they had done it correctly either time would be worth the money to biy the complete arrows from them.

I am in no way or form saying the outcome is your faul but that sometimes a good deal isn't always a bargain.
